SuperNeon - Launch
Submitted by admindoom on Sun, 2010-03-14 22:08.My first launch of the SuperNeon ended in disaster as it landed right into a small drainage ditch running along side the property. The engine soaked up all the water and just could not be removed. So being creative, I rigged the side tubes to hold 2 engines, and fashioned tubes on the top to direct the explosion at the end of the rockets life to the main tube (thats what the coke can bits in the picture are for)

Hyrda VII - ready to fly

So there it is, finally finished and painted. I'm still pretty bad at painting though. I think I need to stop using acrylic paint and switch to an enamle type paint. I tried painting the outer ring a dark red, but that didn't work out so well. So I tried painting over it with blue, but it is kinda streaky, which sucks.

The Stratus 1 Rocket
Submitted by admindoom on Thu, 2010-02-18 01:41.I've mostly finished building this rocket, which takes 2 clustered engines.
This is a big imporvement over the Super Neon rocket since this is actually designed for 2 engines, and not hastily forced together. So we shall see how it compares once we actually get it flying.
SuperNeon Clustered Rocket.
Submitted by admindoom on Sun, 2010-02-14 00:39.So I bought the super neon rocket and went out to fly it a while ago. Due to the blustery day the rocket ended up drifting right into a small ditch and got soaked. Which made pulling out the engine almost impossible as it expanded with the soaked up water and bonded to the cardboard engine holder.
So I decided to convert this into a clustered rocket. I was originally going to make this with 4 engines, but decided to stick with 2 for now.
My Education in review.
Submitted by admindoom on Tue, 2009-11-03 18:17.I FINALLY graduate from the University of Houston with a Bachaelors of Science in Computer Science in the Summer of 2009. After a long 6 years of being in school. This piece of paper cost roughly 40,000$ to obtain, so was this all really worth it?
So lets break it down a bit then:

Upgrade from drupal 4.7 to 5.18!
Submitted by admindoom on Fri, 2009-05-29 21:36.I finally got around to upgrading this site to drupal 5.18 since acid free's mass import on 4 didn't really work and I wanted to upload all of my California pictures (which came out rather nice I think).
Anyway, upgrading was very simple, just following the UPGRADE.txt directions got me up and running no worries. However when I tried to go from 5.18 to 6.12 everything started giving me 500 errors, which was rather frustrating so I think I will stick to 5.18 for a little while.
Changed the theme to Baron as well from voodoo_dolly since that later isn't supported in 5 :(

First thoughts on Windows7
Submitted by admindoom on Tue, 2009-02-24 22:24.I could have sworn I had one of these for vista, but alas, it must have been deleted somewhere.
So I think I will write down my first impressions on 7, and when I actually start using it will compare on how far that went.
Firstly, I think this is the OS that windows Vista SHOULD have been, the beta version worked incredibly well. I love the new task bar icon doc thing. All I ever look at are the little icons anway, so collapsing everything into little squares with a picture works really well for me.
